I stayed at Secrets on the Lake in 2008 with my family, whilst in the country from the UK visiting relatives, a trip we regularly make. We enjoyed the experience not only for the location and quality of the rooms but also for what we perceived to be a spiritual and warm feeling presented by the proprietors. In August 2010 we booked another stay in order to celebrate my father-in-laws 80th Birthday. Sadly the day before we were due to arrive at Secrets my father-in-law sadly passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in his sleep.
Despite paying the full amount prior to arrival which was not part of the 'Terms and Conditions', the proprietors lack of spirituality, compassion and understanding was evident when they refused to return any of the initial deposit.
They say in their literature that 'Nothing is too much trouble'. Obviously in exceptional circumstances this is put to the test and when it comes to the dollar this was too much trouble.
A very sour taste has been left. (Date of experience: Aug, 2010 )
