Mollymook is an upmarket sea-side town about a three hours drive along the scenic NSW South Coast.
It's not easy finding accommodation on the Easter weekend - so many places are pedantic about staying the full four nights. We just wanted a three-night stay and Mollymook Beach Seaview were very accommodating. Plus the prices were really reasonable, especially during a public holiday period.
We were welcomed warmly by Seaview host Lizzie who took us for an informative tour through the guest house. The Executive Apartment which was ours for the weekend was immaculate with gynormous king-sized bed, fully equipped kitchen, en-suite bathroom and a sunny patio with barbecue and outdoor furniture.
Lizzie lead us upstairs to the magnificent deck complete with books, games, comfy couches and a breathtaking view of the ocean. It was the perfect spot for a before-dinner sherry and some star gazing (the night sky out here is magic).
We also peaked into the office which houses their extensive DVD collection (at well over 600 titles, we were spoiled for choice). There was a catalogue of dvd's in our room and all we had to do was tick which ones we wanted, pop the paper under the office door and the dvd's would be delivered to our room (at no extra cost). What great service.
Our large apartment had a flat screen TV and dvd in front of the bed so it was an indulgent treat to watch the latest blockbusters from the comfort of our bed.
The fridge and cupboard was packed with breakfast goodies - including eggs, tomatoes, english muffins, cereal, yoghurt and more. We had a delicious morning feast - thanks to Lizzie's selection.
The kitchen even had essentials like foil, cling-wrap, serviettes, salt and pepper which is normally left out in self contained accommodation. I have a feeling if you needed something that wasn't included, Lizzie would go out of her way to source it for you.
The guest house is a few minutes walk from the beautiful Mollymook beach so very conveniently situated. It's obviously not as close to the water as the motels right on the beach - but for me, it was good enough.
When it was time to leave, we found a package outside our door - it was a basket filled with chocolates and a handwritten note thanking us for staying from Lizzie and her husband Rex. A very touching end to a memorable holiday.
It's not often that we get to stay in a place that is filled with love, warmth and hospitality. Together with Seaview's comfort and facilities, this puts this guest house at the top of my list of places to stay in Mollymook. (Date of experience: Apr, 2010 )
