We saw the signage for the hatchery and were not too sure what to expect. We drove in and when we arrived we noticed that we were just in time for their 10am tour. Excellent timing. We were greated at the door by the lovely tour guide, paid our admission fee and was recommended to purchase a bag of fish food for the kids to feed. Still not knowing what to expect we watched a short video then headed out to the main deck to see the large fish. As soon as we fed the fish, they were jumping and playing with us. They were so big. We walked around the hatchery and kids were feeding the fish ponds as we passed and learning so much about what the hatchery does. Amazing how natural this place is and such a lovely environment. The tour goes for about 1hour and so informative. Shame you cant fish there, though this place really motivates you to learn and fish for the trout in the wild.
What a great place. Highly recommend it if you are looking for something to do. Very educational and awesome for kids. (Date of experience: Jan, 2010 )
