Milawa is a absolutely beautiful location. Plenty of wineries and gourmet food places such as the Cheese Factory and Brown Brothers Winery.
Lindenwarrah itself seemed nice, large room and what looked like a beautiful restaurant. Unfortunately the days we visited the restaurant was not open so can not comment on 'Merlot'.
We were greeted as if we were too young or cheap to possibly have a reservation and given a large but unfortuanately quite unclean room. Lots of little things wrong/dirty add up to an unpleasent memory. Scuff marks around the room, bugs squished on the walls and an imcomplete mini bar.
We seemed to be one of only 3 couples staying in a 40 room place so with the amount you pay per night, we expected to be looked after quite well. Little were we told the over the next two days, two full conferences over took the place. We werent told about this, nor were we assisted since we were one of the few actual customers staying with them. We were shunned to the foyer to eat breakfast as the conferences took over every sitting room and the empty cafe/restuarant. Then they filled the rooms next to ours as break out rooms for the conference. Needless to say, very little sleep was had through all that racket.
Extremely disappointed when such a large amount of money was paid in a so called 4 star place and yet the service was atrocious.
Just to top the few days off, we were over charged for our sub par spa treatments as we checked out.
Wouldn't recommend to anyone except if hosting a conference, because that is obviously the only business they care about at Lindenwarrah. (Date of experience: May, 2010 )
