Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay - it's a must!

My partner and I stayed at Martinique in April after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. I have to say that while their reviews are great, our stay far exceeded our expectations.

Fred and Antonia are the most wonderful hosts, they gave us great tips on where to dine, what tours to do and places to visit - then they arranged it all for us!

The resort itself is a gorgeous little boutique resort with NO CHILDREN, a quiet tropical garden and salt water pool, located at the end of the main street and right on the beach. This place had so much character it was a breath of fresh air from the normal 'beige and contemporary' resorts that litter Port Douglas.

Our room was clean, spacious and obviously cared for. Our balcony overlooked the pool area and our room also had a nice little kitchenette, perfect for light cooking and brekky.

If you're going to Port Douglas you can't look past Martinique, perfect, quaint, relaxing, peaceful and the best location in town. (Date of experience: Apr, 2011 )

Getting TherePort Douglas is just one-hour drive north of the Cairns International Airport along the Captain Cook Highway one of the most scenic ocean coast roads in Australia. Martinique reservation office will arrange for their guests the shuttle coach service to Port Douglas or if you so wish hire cars are available from the national car rental companies from Cairns International Airport. As Martinique is within walking distance to most facilities in Port Douglas we recommend as a cost saving for our guests to travel to Port Douglas by shuttle service and hire a car in Port Douglas on the days you wish to do your touring.
