Still beautiful, but somewhat architecturally damaged in the '70's (Shrines dismantled, Statuary relegated to the back of the church, Altar, flanking Angels & golden damask reredos replaced by an incongruous dark oak Dining-room style table). St. Patrick's still maintains some of its former Romanesque architectural flair. It is well worth a visit, even to marvel at the Roman Style ceiling with it's multicolored panels. As children in the '50's, we would incur the nun's displeasure by trying to count them during Mass. Sadly there is now a starkness instead of the welcoming warmth I used to know as a child. Very sad.
