Took more than 1:40 minutes to check in after I had just completed 10 hour drive. Ignored by staff for first five minutes.Got the famous room 13 with the main steel gate access attached to the wall of the room.CRASHES shut every time someone comes in or goes out all night long. Brilliant.
No wardrobe to hang your clothes. They also have blacked out windows on the building side which I suspect can be looked through from the otherside after I accidentally discovered the paint was missing on the other side (scratched of).
Food was fantastic however. Sunday Roast great if you don't want fish. Got harrassed by a locals who took the ciggy butts out of our ashtray and grabbed the shank bones off the dinner plate when we had finished. They also like the food. Our car was broken into to top this off and workboots and other gear nicked.
Dosen't serve breakfast which is crap. No arrangement made with local cafes to put cost onto bill.
Pretty expensive for a mediocre experience. The location is great however right in the middle of big bustling downtown Broome.
Solution
Staff need to be trained in hospitality (service you know?), security needed to keep the locals from scrounging in the pub and the car park at night, gate needs to go, obsolete windows in room need reblakening and a wardrobe would be an innovation. (Date of experience: Jun, 2010 )
