Would not make backpacker accomodation!

Booked ahead for twin share. When we arrived only gave us a double bed to share (mother and adult daughter). After unpacking, discovered a small window pane was missing from window facing the communal verandah. When I spoke about this to the owners, he gave me a small wooden board to slide behind the missing pane (did not offer to move us to the still available room next door or come to put the wood in himself). The bathrooms overflowing drain was not connected to any pipework (building is two stories and accommodation is upstairs). During daylight you can glance down through the drainage hole and see underneath the building so any person under the building can see up through the drainage hole. If it was not Christmas peak season we would have left immediately upon noticing the bed disaster.

Sadly to say whilst 99.9% of our visitors are more than happy with our standards of accommodation. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness and presentation. All bookings are treated according to requests made. The room description may have been misunderstood by the lady. If the other room was available we are certain that we would have offered if asked. At the time we had just taken over management and some repairs we still being undertaken.

Additional InfoOn the beach side of Gold Coast highway the Cheshire Cat Motel is ideally located less than 10 minutes drive from Gold Coast Airport (Coolangatta) ,close to Pacific Highway, M1 Motorway, 2 km from Exit 92, 95 km easy drive from Brisbane The Cheshire Cat Motel is located within 6 km of Coolangatta (Gold Coast) Airport and 2 km from the M1 Pacific Highway and is within 40 meters of stunning Palm Beach. We do transfers from Gold Coast Airport for a small fee of $5.00 each way or $10.00 each way to Robina Rail Station if catching the train from Brisbane. Gold Coast trains can be caught from both Domestic and International terminals at Brisbane airport. A great 24 hour bus service stops close to the Motel. Please ask for directions when booking if you are unsure.

The Cheshire Cat is perfectly located for quick access north or south for the passing overnight traveller or holiday maker wanting the perfect setting for a relaxed and quiet get away.
