I regret ever walking into Wicked Travel in Byron Bay. Me and a friend called in to use the internet and were asked if we had accommodation booked in Sydney. A guy called Sam suggested we stay at Maze Backpackers as they had a deal on so we researched the place and decided to go for it. I really should have been suspicious when Sam automatically charged $160 to my credit card before checking with the hostel for availablity!! Long story short, he didnt book us in properly, the hostel was fully booked up due to a music festival taking place and everywhere else had been booked up for weeks. We were officially HOMELESS! We waited about at Maze reception for 8 hours before a really lovely girl at the hostel let us stay in an out of order room. It was a storage room with a matress on the floor. Sam was contacted to ask what went wrong, he passed the blame and so on but promised to process our refund that day. This happened on the 24th Nov and im still waiting on my refund!! I have called him at least 8 times, emailed him and today I contacted the customer service email at Wicked Travel. It really put a dampner on the rest of our trip which annoys the hell outa me but added to that, I haven't been told why getting a refund is such a complicated task. There is so many other options when it comes to booking tours and activities so be safe and go elsewhere! (Date of experience: Nov, 2011 )
