Motel Marengo

This is not the same place we visited a few years back. The new owners have painted and freshened the rooms but better still, they have created an outdoor area and BBQ adjacent to the pool. The grassy lawn and native trees attract birdlife like the king parrot and galahs. Although the beautiful Marengo beach is just a two-minute walk away, our kids wouldn't get out of the motel pool. Even a hot day they liked the hot spa. The place bills itself as family venue and that's the feeling you get. Guests meet and mix at the pool or BBQ. When we stayed we met a number of people who were using the motel as their base for the Great Ocean Walk. That will have to wait for another time. Motel Marengo gives great value for the family-friendly prices they charge. We will come back to stay more often now that it has upgraded its rooms and amenities.
