The Cross Inn

We stumbled upon this place late on a Saturday night and the staff were so so friendly and welcoming. They agreed to take our food orders even though we were late arrivals and when the food came...WOW! It was just perfect, and just what we needed. The mussels were amazing, as was the monkfish, the steak and black pudding and the grilled chicken supreme stuffed with haggis! The balance and complexity of flavours and textures was spot on. The presentation was mouth-watering and the portions were such that, when looking at the dessert menu we were so disappointed...it all looked so marvellous but we were so full. The only thing for it was to come back on Sunday for a truely delicious roast (with the mussels to start again) and finally we got to dig into some of the most fantastic home made puddings we have ever tasted! The chocolate marquis....DEVINE! The thing is, this place is just about amazing food. The staff were just some of the friendliest and welcoming people you could hope to meet, they went out of their way to make us feel happy, special and comfortable. So...the food, the atmosphere, the location and views make this place a must visit for anyone!
