Vistas on Trousers Point

Wow! What an amazing place. Such magnificent food at such reasonable prices. Professional but so Personal and such friendly service with dining and accom. Wonderful hosts Ken & Carolyn made our stay there so great we did not want to go home. Will be making this an annual holiday for sure. Flinders Island has so much to see and do - and the food is locally caught or lots are actually grown at Vistas. It's amazing to see their garden then taste the food that day cooked by a world class chef. It's not unusual for Ken and/or Carolyn to sit with you at the end of the meal and join in a red wine or coffee. Thanks for showing us what a quiet peaceful resort like yours can do for people needing a break from the rat race. This is definitely the other end of the scale from the rat race - but then by riding bikes or driving a car we could see and do whatever we wanted in the area. The accom at Vistas was more like what are used to with the Sheraton but with real personal service. The clear waters at the pristine beach is a short walk but most times does not have another person on it. My hubbie climbed to the top of Mt Strezlecki but I chose to wander the bush at the bottom with the slight rock climb walk around the bottom. The views and wildlife in the area is fantastic. Ken's menu is amazing - No bulk pre-prepared meals at Chappel's restaurant - everything is prepared on site and so fresh they sometimes pick it from the garden after you order your meal. Cannot speak highly enough of our stay at Vistas and would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a romantic break, family holiday or just some R & R after a hectic time with business or work. Nothing seems too difficult for Ken or Carolyn - as they have lived in the area for a long time and know the locals so they can arrange anything that is possible on the island. Or they will leave you completely alone to rest and relax and wander. The only downside to the whole holiday was the airfares to Flinders Island. But when you consider what you normally pay for resorts for food and souvenirs etc the air fare was offset by these and the fact that there not many other tourists in the area and everyone is so friendly and food etc is so cheap and fresh.
