The food was acceptable and staff were very friendly. We were told we may get an opportunity to snorkel - no chance. We were told we would see turtles and hopefully whales. We did - but from so far away and from the shore. The cruise was made to sound as though we would go around the island but in fact we were set down at Dunwich and loaded immediately onto a coach and taken through residential areas and finally let down near the gorge. We had all of 30mins to walk along the cliffs to look out to see. We did see water burst from a whale but couldn't see the actual whale, and saw a turtle in the waters below but again couldn't properly make it out. Then a rush back up the slopes to catch the coach back to the boat for lunch then off home. There was no commentary about the island, and we had no choice as to what to do or see. I feel we were misled into believing the cruise offered much more than it actually did. Certainly not worth $100. I would have expected commentary on the coach also, but all we heard was that the driver had only been on Straddie for a week and that we could look at the houses we couldn't afford! The redeeming feature was that it was a beautiful day - shame we spent a good part of it sitting on a bus looking at houses and trees - not my expectation of an island cruise at all.
