Grampians Gardens Tourist Park

My husband and I have been coming to this park for many years and have always enjoyed our stays here and our dogs have always been welcome. The last 2 times we have stayed have not been so pleasant. We stayed just after xmas 2010, and yes it was a lot busier than it had been in previous years. Firstly we allotted a site and when we got there it already had a tent set up on it. On telling the office staff they just told us to squeeze in where ever there was a space, easier said than done! The amenities were really dirty and the toilets were constantly running, which meant you couldnt flush them when you needed too. On telling the one of the cleaning staff,she told me I needed to wait for the cistern to fill before flushing. Needless to say that wasn't going to happen because of the constant running!
We put this down to a bad experience and returned the last weekend in Nov 2011. On going to the showers I was confronted with a cold water shower. On leaving the water run at least 5 minutes it was still cold. I changed to the other shower block, after telling a cleaner at the bbq, he just told me to keep the tap running. Finally got a shower, but very hard to adjust the water temp.
Next morning turned a hot tap on before going to the loo, it was still cold when I came out, so left it running went back to the van got my clothes organised, gone about 10 minutes, still cold when I went back! Most of the locks in the showers and toilets are broken or just about ready to fall off.
I will say they have done some great work on the couples cabins, but the amenities need a much needed upgrade. Please work on the amenities and we will return. (Date of experience: Nov, 2011 )
