McLaughlin's Inn

The room was ice cold and filthy. The kettle had some sort of orange dirt on it, and when I complained to the staff they were rude about it. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. Actually, hard and uncomfortable doesn't even begin to describe it. I almost would have been better off sleeping on the floor, except who knows how dirty that would have been, given how disgusting the bed itself was. I cannot say strongly enough just how rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional the staff were, including the manager. I was so dissatisfied that I asked for a refund and was refused one. I intend to pursue the matter with my credit card company. I suppose I should have known that this was not the best place to stay, both by the shabby exterior, and by the fact that they were the only hotel with rooms available. I have stayed at other places in Northern Ireland, any one of which on their worst day would have been far better.
