Royal Hotel

Stayed here for one night and while the weather was extremely hot, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely old pub in beautiful condition. The room was basic but comfortable and clean. A/c would have made it a fabulous place to stay, but at least the overhead fan worked at full speed all night. Bathrooms were very clean and well supplied with lots of soap and hand towels and bathmats. Food was simple, but fresh and was not overpriced. Breakfast was a 'help yourself' to cereal, toast, spreads, etc and there was plenty of everything. Best of all, the staff were incredibly friendly and the huge jug of lemon, lime and bitters was a refreshing and fitting end to an otherwise hot, humid and horrible summers day.
