Great position to see the Spirit of Tasmania coming and going

We have stayed here now 4 times. The view of the river and the passing of all the ships including the Spirit of Tasmania is magic, however the c/p itself is looking a bit uncared for now. The amenities are a bit below standard and in need of updating or repairing and the sites especially those nearest the road are very small and uncared for. Because it is just a small walk to the river ferry to town and as it is in the quieter area away from the busy town itself, it is an ideal place to rest either after the trip from the mainland or awaiting the trip. The staff are friendly, but if you are looking for a bit of comfort, this is not the c/p to stay.

Thank you for taking the time to review our Park. We agree that the position of the Park is magic. We have been for the past 8 years endeavouring to obtain direction from the Devonport City Council. Lease term now left is 2 years. As leaseholders, we have plans to invest up to $25M on this property to make it a true icon when coming into Tassie by sea. To date we have advanced not one step with regards to securing the property via a new lease or purchase. With only two years left on the lease and no confirmed security of tenure, no one would invest on major improvements to the Park. We continue to try to make a silk purse out of a sows ear. We do pride ourselves at having clean & tidy amenities / plenty of hot water / well groomed grass and slab sites and friendly staff (owner / operators).
