We stayed here October 2008 in a private rented caravan. Our holiday started on a sunday, we arrived at 2pm, as arranged, to find reception close. After realising we had no mobile phone signal to contact the park we started to get concerned as to how we announce our arrival. After 10 or so minutes we discovered the smallest of notices in the door window explaining help available at "Fuscia Cottage" opposite reception. Knowing this information prior to arrival would have been most helpful. The caravan was based right next to a stream that turned into a raging torrent after a rain fall, this is positioned right next to our bedroom hence no sleep when it rained, it rained every night!! The grass area outside was then mowed by the park gardener mid week which then turned the grass into sludgey mud. The caravan itself had a disgusting smelly fridge which polluted the air every time it was opened resembling a rotting corpse. Upon complaining to the staff on reception we were advised it was a private caravan & wasn't their responsibility. Wednesday morning we ran out of gas, a twin bottle system, both bottles empty. Again the matter was reported to the office whom placed the request of new gas on a "list" of jobs. After going out for the day we returned early evening to discover the gas was still not replaced. It took yet another visit to the office to replace it. In conclusion I found the park to have a general couldn't care less attitude, we will never return & along with an awful caravan to stay in it was a horrible holiday, hence a return home a day early!!

At Hele Valley Holiday Park we accommodate 60 private caravan owners who enjoy our peaceful green environment and a sense of freedom to holiday. We are one of the few holiday parks who allow private owners to sublet to help with running costs. We are proud to offer exceptional service to all visitors to Hele Valley. If our reception is not open we clearly display emergancy and 4 Out of Hours telephone numbers on our main reception window and outside of the reception shutter. Our main telephone number is also displayed on the reception sign. We have an traditional English red telephone box directly opposite the reception with emergancy and Out of hours telephone numbers displayed. We have managers on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. If a mobile is not accessable we offer visitors to call at the managers house 50 yards opposite the reception. We have a small stream running along the edge of the holiday park which usually guests find relaxing. I am sure you will agree weather plays a strategic part of anyones holiday enjoyment. We are only sorry we are unable to control the weather, if we could we would make it sunny every day!. Our maintanence team are proud to attend to every detail which contribute to our visitors holiday enjoyment and am able to confirm that gas cylinders are changed daily, if not immediately. Our happy team and management are here to ensure guests receive our best attention during their stay and go beyond their duties to please. We welcome all comments and feedback to ensure we are flexable to improve service with every opportunity. Buying a holiday caravan is an affordable luxury and our aim is to offer a freedom to holiday. Visit our sales page on our website for more details on buying your own holiday home on the North Devon coast.
