I stayed here almost 2 years ago. I have an executive position with a lot of responsibility and had been working for about 18 months at a fast pace - late nights etc. Had also had a baby during this time. I needed a break from life desperately and my doctor gave me a week of sick leave to recuperate.
I went up to Amytis Gardens for 4 nights and stayed in a beautiful new timber villa on the side of the mountain with bush and native birds my only view from the villa. It was wonderful and peaceful to see no-one else (apart from the friendly staff) and just listen to the sounds of the bush. All meals were gourmet meal delivered to my door and in between enjoying relaxed dining I visited the spa up the hill - past the pool and main estate house for my various appointments throughout my stay to have wonderful massages, saunas, body wraps, facials. etc... I enjoyed it all!
I read books and slept on the luxurious bed and lounge. I didn't give anyone the landline number (except for my husband) and turned off my mobile. I think I rang home once to see how they were going.
It was absolutely the best retreat from life I have ever had. I would highly recommend this to anyone particularly if you need a break - it is great to do this alone.
