I recently paid for and stayed 4 nights at Bluebell Guest House. I wish I had paid for 1 or 2 nights so that I could leave rather than stay. (The owner deliberately gave the false impression that they were very busy). You do not get a discount for staying more than 1 night but they never tidy up or clean your room or the communal bathroom/toilet. No storage facilities in the twin room I was in and no tea/coffee making facilities in the room (I note they state on some websites they have such facilities in each room). When queried I was told I would find it in the breakfast room. But there was no milk provided except on one occasion. I was told guests could use the kitchenette but the door was locked most of the time. No soap provided. Just enough sachets (free sample Lynx 'Snake Peel' shower gel) for my stay and handwash diluted to the consistency of water. The towels provided were so old, thin and discoloured they were like 20 year old terry nappies. Pillows were wafer thin which I see as indicative of the quality of the place. Sheets were old and worn. It was also noisy being on the main road. Parking was awkward if not impossible for newcomers but the owner has mastered the technique and would be happy to park your car for you!
It is better than sleeping in your car but then it would not cost you any extra to sleep in your car.
Breakfast was OK provided you do not go for the sausages (the cheap ones with loads of breadcrumbs).
