I stepped in to sign up, then i was surprised to see a joining fee . Seeing my puzzled reaction, the owner (i believe he is the one in the website photo), SNAPPED and YELLED at me at the lobby in front of his staff and members. He accused me of calling him a liar, when he explained to me that the 20£ "joining fee" is for the bank charges for the direct debit. Of course i was suprised since i know for a fact that most businesses charge even less for direct debit and it was NOT listed in their website.
Frankly, i don't care what his problem is, but that was an extremely UNPROFESSIONAL behaviour. Is that the proper way for a business owner should behave in dealing with a potential new customer? That was the worst and humiliating sales talk that i have ever seen.
He even kept on going... tearing the flyer into pieces and shouting "forget it! forget it!"" I will not give you direct debit!"
I did not attempt to explain myself as he seemed to be very hostile that i felt that i needed to just leave immediately for my own safety.
After this exploration of an alternative gym, i'm going back to my old one. At least there, I was treated with respect.
You guys who are checking this gym out, be warned.
