A brief but informative introductory talk then on into the mint with lots of informative exhibits. Try lifting a big old nugget before going outside to the small courtyard to see a reconstruction of a typical period mining scene. It really made us think about how tough it must have been for those who came for the gold rush. Inside again to see liquid gold poured and cooled in seconds. Don't forget your water. The building's a great backdrop for photos too.
