Ilkley Cottages

My family rented two of these cottages a few years ago. They're slightly out of town so it's a perfect location if you want to get away from it all and don't need to drive anywhere after dark.

The cottages we rented were both fashionably vintage. They had great functional kitchens with woodfire heating and gorgeous furniture. The big open plan living areas were perfect for lazing about, reading books and playing games.

Outside is a big open field and nearby is some childrens play equipment which was definitely popular. In the mornings, you can watch the kangaroos bounce across the paddock as you fry your bacon and eggs on the BBQ.

It's only 3 hours from Sydney but after a weekend, you really feel a world away from the big smoke. (Date of experience: Aug, 2008 )
