Girraween Environmental Lodge is one of those experiences you have to spoil yourself with at least once in your lifetime. The cabins are cosy, well appointed and extremely comfortable. I would suggest the middle of winter for your visit....light the fire, and enjoy one of the few places in Queensland that can show you what a real winter is like. Waking in the morning to the bird calls and wild life, with the sun sparkling on the early morning frost is quite a unique experience. Everything about the Lodge is well maintained. You can relax in your own bathtub, or use the outdoor spa with its gorgeous views...quite surreal if you are there in winter. The National Park itself has walks for all stages of fitness from a light stroll to an extreme experience. Some of the lookouts have extraordinary views across the ranges. There are lots of boutique wineries nearby, and lots to see and do in the district. I dont have enough superlatives to describe our stay at the Lodge. Brass monkey season is my season of choice, but I cant imagine a stay here being anything but memorable.
