The site of the "Greatest Olympics There Has Ever Been In History - Man Was It Great". There are world class facilities out there. The Aquatic Centre, The Hockey Centre, The Tennis Centre theres a whole bunch of these excellent Centres but apart from a couple of times a years they do nothing. You, Joe Public cant just turn up on the holy ground of Stadium Australia and sprint the 100m. To set foot upon the hallowed turf/ astro turf/ asphalt/ any other surface your only option is to join a tour group. The Visitor Information Centre has a self guided walk-through exhibition and video presentation and is set within a heritage garden. Its open daily between 9-5. If youre disabled you will have access. For $35 you can get a SuperPass which entitles you to take one guided tour of Stadium Australia and the Sydney Aquatic Centre and one self-guided tour of the Observation Centre at the Novotel Hotel. Then they let you have a complimentary swim at the Sydney Aquatic Centre. Nearby is Bicentennial Park which was bestowed upon this community in recognition of the fact that this is more or less the geographical centre of the Sydney metro area.It serves to illustrate how vast and sprawling 'Sydney' actually is, a way-out-west suburb is actually in the middle of the area.
