I had never been camping before and our friends suggested we go to Thunderbird Park for our inaugural experience. We got off to a rocky start when we arrived at what we thought was Thunderbird Park's reception, only to be treated very rudely by a woman when she realised we were camping beside the creek and that we had booked with Thunderbird Park and not them. There are two camping grounds at Thunderbird Park and the other camp ground manager leaves you in no doubt about how she feels. Anyway, when we sorted out with the other reception (where we were treated extremely pleasantly and professionally) we then organised ourselves in a site very close to Cedar Creek. From that moment onwards, everything was perfect. We loved the rock pools, the fire we had each night and the constant sound of the birds. You can collect ice and a crate of firewood from their reception when you check in. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and that was really fabulous and the service was great. The desserts were the best I have EVER had - highly recommend the toblerone cheesecake! We went horse trail riding and did Adventure Park - a major ropes course and great. The amenities have recently been renovated and are very clean and tidy. We would highly recommend camping at Thunderbird Park.
