Do not camp here.

I have never experienced so few amenities for such a high price.

$28 for 2 people per night puts it among the most expensive parks I've visited.

However, the campsites are full of stones and rocks (inappropriate for tents, unpleasant for everyone), the amenities block is a days' march from the campsites and contains only 4 toilets and 4 showers.

It was filthy dirty the whole 3 days we were there, though it was only an ordinary weekend and I assume no busier than usual. It was also poorly maintained to the point of being dangerous, with broken tiles, unmarked hot taps, and some vile substance over the tap handles.

Besides the rip-off price for the campsite, you must pay $2 per token, theoretically for a 6 minute hot shower (if you can stand the filth). In the mens' shower the hot water did not kick for for a minute and a half and in the womens' there was no hot water at all.

The lock on the mens' showers broke and no-one could access it the last day we were there.

Reception seemed blithly unconcerned when I reported these issues, though they did give me $2 back for my useless shower token.

The setting is lovely, with some nice positions by a beautiful creek (if you don't mind camping on bare rocky ground). However, there are plenty of nice places to visit, do not stay here. (Date of experience: Mar, 2011 )
