Grand Manor Motor Inn

I stayed for six nights with my young daughter and two dogs in late Jan/early Feb 2010. I picked the Grand Manor because they allow the dogs to sleep in your room, which was great because we were moving house and it helped the dogs (and us!) get through the transition period. The room was clean and comfortable with a big flatscreen TV on the wall, microwave, full-size bar fridge with icebox, kettle, cutlery, crockery etc. plus the usual tea, coffee, hairdryer. Anything that wasn't provided (such as larger plates), you only had to ask. There were no DVD players available to borrow at the time we asked, but this varies. There was a large stock of DVDs available to borrow. Staff were friendly and accessible. There is a BBQ by the small pool and guests are welcome to borrow BBQ tools. Dogs are even allowed in the pool. The restaurant is excellent too - not cheap, but top quality food. The neighbourhood is okay, not wonderful, but it's not a noisy area considering how close it is to the main road, and the motel itself is very quiet at night. There is a Chinese takeaway right opposite and a corner shop very close, plus parks/river/playground just down the road. It's also very close to the CBD. The only real negative was that the washing machine (free to use) broke while we were there. All in all, highly recommended for animal owners and non-animal people alike.
