I am being generous at giving Fountaindale a rating of 1 only because there is nothing lower. I recently attended a wedding reception at this venue and it is clearly the worst I have ever experienced.
Apparently they claim to be able to accommodate/cater for up to 150 guests but they clearly cannot do this with any success.
The amenities are sub standard with toilet doors missing and toilets unable to flush. There appears to be little effort from management to ensure the place is kept in a clean state. Dust, dirt & cobwebs are part of the character with no shortage of antique carpet stains to enhance the peeling paint and mould. The staff were trying to do their best but are clearly inexperienced.
If the guests are to be comfortable, the dinning area is unable to cope with over 80. With 130+ it felt more like being on public transport in peak hour. No room between tables to socialize and constantly having to move chairs around or disturbing other guests for access. Concrete pillars dressed with mirrors in the dining area meant many quests were unable to see but only hear when speeches were taking place.
The food was pub quality at best, but at least at my local it served hot, not so at Fountaindale. Yes it was cooked, but served to our table cold.
Parking was a joke so if you’re silly enough to book this place for a reception tell your favorite quests to make a mad dash from the church because they can’t cope with more than 25 vehicles.
The best part of the day was back in the comfort of my car for a Macca’s cheeseburger on the way home.
I believe my friends bill was over $15K which was a complete joke for what they got. (Date of experience: May, 2011 )
