Food is great at the Walkabout, but we didnt have a good experience overall.. Very unwelcoming staff, Receptionist had no idea what she was doing..Rooms was Below Average & room rates was too high seeing the situations of all there rooms..and as a hotel with a good location, its a total waste, comparing it to other hotel accomodations around Port hedland.. I would NEVER recommend Walkabout Hotel in Port Hedland...

Basically its not a HOTEL/MOTEL..ITS A CAMP !! (Date of experience: Jul, 2010 )

    The Pilbara is a difficult place for accommdation at the best of times... and yes the rates are high but they can afford to ask the higher rates and accommadtion is a premium.... the hotel has had some major refurbishment done to it and it is ongoing... to improve standards. I would not go so far as to say its a camp!!! Staff have changed and there are now good staff all round.... give it a try you will be surprised..... Pilbara Res
