Staying at Woodfield was such a refreshing experience. The campsite is very visually pleasing and the sound of the water rushing in the creek just a short distance away and at times hearing the wind blowing in the tall eucalypts added stimulus to my senses.
With native bushes surrounding the rooms, it brings the birds and it's the first time I have seen what seemed to be a "robin redbreast" hopping in the bushes on the edge of the oval. Being quite a while since I have been out of the city, I was surprised how the experience stimulated my senses.
I had been slightly concerned that I might be bored, so shortened our original planned length of stay, however I couldn't believe how quickly the time went, so much to do, I was disappointed we hadn't stayed longer. We enjoyed lots of walking tracks, (need to get fitter) and was surprised at the work done to build bridges and steps on the creek track so nice, with enough challenge.
I heard from others staying that the waterfall is just beautiful, but we ran out of time to see it, so plan to do that on our next stay. Also the surrounding area is quite beautiful and we enjoyed a day trip, via the historic town of Richmond, winding our way to Port Arthur it really was a fantastic day.
We had great fun with our daughter and small grandson, playing with the air hockey, table tennis and the "alley" game - we laughed a lot. She loved the walking tracks, couldn't get enough of exploring some great walks, and views so much to see and do.
The campsite is well equipped and the staff most helpful, making us decide to start planning our next stay at Woodfield. I can thoroughly recommend the stay, totally stimulating, but refreshing.
This was an easy inexpensive holiday and a great way to see around Tassie. (Date of experience: Sep, 2009 )
