Keep the noise down

Very nice apartment and views. We were told at the beginning of our stay that the installation between our apartment and the apartment below us is non-existent therefore we were to keep the noise down and not wear shoes inside. A sign was posted on the fridge stating that a $100 fee would be charged if the managers were called to attend to noise. This was because of the poor insulation in the property when people talk during the night. The managers also left their windows open all night in order to hear the noise. Disappointing about the noise but if you wish to creep around barefoot and whisper all day and night, lovely place to stay. Noise restrictions were not published anywhere on the apartments website. Had we known, we would not have chosen to stay here.

Our 2 Bedroom Superior Ocean View apartments are located above 2 x 2 Bedroom View Apartments. They have timber floor boards inside and a timber deck outside and unfortunately, there is not enough 'insulation' to stop the noise carrying down to the apartments below. We ask all our guests out of respect for others to walk softly on the floors and without shoes on. As Managers, it is our role to ensure all our guests enjoy their holiday and we don't have a problem with anyone partying, however we ask that the noise is keep to a minimum after 10pm. We are located in a quiet area of Airlie Beach and many guests are up early going on a tour or working. It is a minority of guests that wish to continue partying at 2am after an evening out. Our windows are open for 'fresh air' however if we are awoken due to excessive noise and it continues for 15 minutes then we will address the offending party and request for them to 'go to bed'. We don't believe it is too much to ask anyone to be 'respectful' of others and that is why we have many guest's return to our property. I believe that these guests did not incur the penalty as they apologised the next morning for their disruption.

Getting ThereFrom the Whitsunday Airport with Virgin Blue or Jetstar; Airlie Apartments staff, with their private commuter bus will greet you at the airport. Bookings essential before your arrival, phone 07 4946 6222. From the Bruce Highway; Travelling morth from Mackay, take the Airlie Beach exit at Proserpine and follow Shute Harbour Road to Airlie Beach. Travelling south from Townsville, Bowen take the Gregory-Cannonvalley Road and turn left onto Shute Harbour Road to Airlie Beach.
