Dubai is already famous for its revolutionary architecture and the extravagant city is now gearing up for a partially submerged, discus-shaped hotel.
Dubai ship-building firm Drydocks World announcd on Wednesday it has secured a deal with Swiss company Big Invest Consult to develop floating cities and underwater hotels in the city, the Khaleej Times reports.
The agreement includes a 'water discus hotel' in Dubai that would be partly under water.

Designed by Deep Ocean Technology, the hotel would have two "discs" – one 10 metres underwater and one above water.
"This combination will allow guests to admire the depths of the ocean while making the most of the warm climate," the company's website says.
The underwater part would have 21 hotel rooms next to a bar and underwater dive centre.
"Each room is integrated with the underwater world as closely as possible, offering a surprisingly direct, yet safe contact with the local flora and fauna."
Guests will also be able to operate moveable waterproof cameras from inside their rooms that will allow close-up views of the sea life.
The two 'discs' will be connected by a lift and stairway in a vertical shaft.

ReplyWith such projects, Dubai may not have to worry about building underwater hotels. Soon, the whole city or country will go underwater anyway!
