Qantas officially opened the new Qantas Club at Gold Coast Airport on Tuesday, as it continues to improve the customer experience for travellers in the region.
Located at the northern end of the terminal, the former Jetstar lounge has been given a sleek makeover which includes seating for up to 125 guests, a dedicated meeting room and business facilities including iMac computers and high speed Wifi access.
In addition to services for corporate travellers, the lounge also has a family zone with iMacs, a PlayStation and Hinkler books.Qantas Domestic CEO Lyell Strambi said Qantas was committed to providing its customers with the best experience in the market, with the lounge another step in their commitment to the region.
"We fast tracked the construction of the new lounge so that Qantas customers could take advantage of the new facility ahead of Christmas and the peak travel season. The lounge has been modelled on Qantas' network of 34 premium lounges around Australia, which have been refined and improved over time through customer feedback.
"Subject to regulatory approval, the partnership with Emirates will boost inbound tourism with Emirates flights feeding directly into the Qantas network, including its Sydney-Gold Coast flights."
Qantas commenced three daily return services between Sydney and the Gold Coast in October, and now operates up to 189 domestic flights per week to the Gold Coast.
