Barbadian pop star Rihanna has joined forces with the Barbados Tourism Authority, releasing a new social media campaign to entice tourists to the beautiful Caribbean island.
The recently launched video shows Rihanna doing what she does best - frolicking in the sea, riding a bicycle along a country lane, and turning a simple game of dominoes into a steamy affair.

In addition to the video, the campaign also has a competition element where fans can enter a 'watch and win sweepstake' to score Rihanna-related prizes via the Visit Barbados Facebook page.
Rihanna signed a three-year deal to be the face of the Caribbean island last year.
The current campaign will run until February 2013.

I admit a friend showed me the video because of Rihanna, and she is gorgeous, but I agree the film and the website is very unusual, forward thinking, and as a guy who wants a bit of adventure outdoors when I travel, I have the impression that's what I can get on this island. There's an energy that is a bit hypnotic in the film, and I've been prompted to do a bit of reading about the history and people, looks like a fantastic spot and plan to get it on my travel agenda for 2013.
ReplyBrilliant! I've watched the video over and over, and have just booked a stay at a lovely place, Tamarind. The images from the video, especially of the sweeping green hill overlooking the sea, wow! I have never been to Barbados but have heard it is a unique culture, which it must be because the website seems very authentic. This is a look and feel that attracts me, tourist or traveller, simple message that appeals to me, along with the invite to be either. Rihanna is stunningly beautiful, I'm curious to come and see her homeland and to explore all the places featured on the website. Bravo!
