Perisher is the largest ski area in Australia, with fantastic resort facilities

Ski all day without having to catch the same lift twice.

Perisher is the largest ski and snowboard area in the Southern Hemisphere, comprising of four separate but interconnected ski resorts – Smiggin Holes, Guthega, Blue Cow and Perisher Valley. Located in the Snowy Mountains of NSW, Perisher is easily accessible from Sydney and Canberra. With world-class skiing and snowboarding facilities located in a snowy playground of expansive alpine scenery, Perisher is incredibly popular over the winter months.
Perisher has an incredible 47 ski lifts throughout the resort and covers around 1250 hectares. Skiers and boarders can ski all day without having to catch the same lift twice. Most of the terrain at Perisher is suited to intermediate riders, but there is also a good amount of runs suited to beginners and also to the more advanced, including some good off-piste skiing. For learners, Perisher’s Snowsports School provides great instruction through a wide range of ski and snowboard programmes for all abilities.
For the little ones, there are several kids programs at the Snow Discovery Centre, including Snowy Daycare for those who do not wish to learn how to ski. Perisher is also home to some fantastic terrain parks and half-pipe. The Fusion Parks and Pipe consists of four parks with varying degrees of difficulty for all levels.
Other snow activities to try out at Perisher include Snow Tubing at Tube Town, Groomer Tours in one of the resorts snow groomer machines, and Snowshoeing tours of the spectacular Snowy Mountains backcountry. Snow quality tends to be good and can be better than some other Australian resorts at either side of the peak ski season due to the resorts high altitude.
There is some ski-in, ski-out accommodation at Perisher, but due to the spread out nature of this vast resort, much of the on-mountain accommodation is a distance from the lifts. Nearby Jindabyne, which is easily accessible from Perisher, has a vast range of accommodation options for all budgets, and many visitors opt to stay there. Perisher is home to some great cafes and restaurants both on and off the slopes, offering lots of options for après-ski.
