Selwyn has a massive range of winter activities available to entertain the whole family. Skiing and snowboarding are the most popular activities, and there are lessons and packages designed for all ages and abilities. Selwyn Snow World is the new Snow Sports Centre for children from 18 months to 6 years, with programs to entertain the little ones, and teach them to ski with confidence in a fun-based setting. For those who have never skied before and aren’t sure whether they will like it, Selwyn offers the Give It A Go package for adults and children over 7 years, which includes a 1.5 hour first timer group lesson and an afternoon lift pass. Snow Riders is a program for older children 8-18 years old, who want to learn to ski in a fun, social environment. Programs run during the weekends and NSW school holidays.

The resort has its own private dedicated children’s learning area, and kids have a blast with outdoor games and indoor activities to introduce them to the snow. Other snow activities to try out at Selwyn include tobogganing, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, snow-biking and just playing in the snow. Selwyn Snowfields also features it’s very own Snow-Tubing Park! Snow-tubing is lots of fun, and involves sliding down the specialised snow-tubing run on an inflatable tyre, and this is a huge hit with children and adults. Tickets and lift passes for mountain sports and activities like snow-tubing can be purchased once you arrive at the resort, although it can work out cheaper to pre-purchase them as part of a package with ski rental and accommodation. Selwyn Snowfields resort sits on a low altitude so about 80 per cent of the resort is covered by snowmaking enabling most of the mountain to open without the assistance of natural snowfalls.
