A tourist who fell asleep on an airport baggage belt in Rome was only discovered when he travelled through an X-ray scanner.
The 36-year-old from Norway arrived at Fiumicino airport for his flight back to Oslo, but on finding the check-in desk unmanned, apparently decided to have a rest on the baggage conveyor, UK publication The Telegraph reports.

Sleeping Beauty
A Fiumicino airport police officer told the Telegraph incidents involving "drunks or people with psychological problems" happen about once a year.
Another officer told Italian publication La Repubblica: "It's impossible to avoid a situation like this if there's no employee at the check-in desk."
Given his exposure to powerful X-rays, police first took him to hospital for an examination before reporting him to prosecutors in Civitavecchia.

this guy is really drunk
ReplyIt should not be too difficult to have some sort of alarm system fitted when the belt is not in use for baggage. most big airports have security cameras everywhere surely the person starting the belt up could do a quick check first.
