Head of Bight definitely the best for southern rights. Cat Balou Cruises in Eden for humpbacks.

Funny thing in NSW and Queensland you can go out on a charter and see whales but in Vic you get fined for going within 2kms.

Whale watch operators on south-east Queensland's Fraser Coast are expecting up to 10,000 humpback whales to make their way through the region's waters this season.

You can watch whales even from the shore, that is even moreexciting experience. There are few good spots in Sydney from which is probably Kurnell the best. A few weeks ago we saw a mother and the calf just couple of hundert meters from a shore!

Seeing whales broach is a real buzz! Often seen of Gunnamatta. Also saw one hove to 20m off the starboard beam of the Spirit last year just to let us get out of the way. Wonder when the NIps will get into this century and just watch them. Apart from anything else, there's bigger bucks in watching than destroying these magnificent creatures.

The Head of Bight in South Australia! Stunning limestone cliffs which rise from the Southern Ocean up to 300 metres high, and up to 100 Southern Right Whales (in season - May to September). Boat cruises from Fowlers Bay, scenic flights at Head of Bight. Best of all, not huge crowds of people - Perfect!
